About Karnataka RTO
RTO Karnataka functions under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and state transport regulations. It handles registration of new and used vehicles, issues and renews learner and permanent driving licences, collects road tax, and conducts vehicle inspections for fitness, insurance, and pollution compliance, along with issuing related certificates.

Visit your local Karnataka RTO office in person.
Complete Form 20 and attach required documents
Present your vehicle for inspection to check its fitness, paperwork, and pollution standards
Pay registration fees and road tax at the RTO counter.
After successful verification, your Karnataka RTO issues your RC smart card and official registration number
